Danger Den Maze 1C -

My crude MS Paint work on the pic to show where the wall is in the pic.

Peak Ex. Core Temp

45.2C

Peak MBM Temp

41.0C

Peak Ex. Intake Temp

22.7C

When I got this block I was sure it was a winner.  Its quality of construction is top notch, its got a nicely flat base, and well it didn't win. As you can see from the previous 2 blocks, the Danger Den Maze 1C is right between them, so at this point you know it didn't win and it didn't loose :).  The blocks retention mech. is actually very well designed and one of the best setups I have seen in a long time.  Its very stupid proof, and works very well with the block.

Peak Coolant In

25.4C

Peak Coolant Out

25.2C

Peak Exhaust

24.6C

Peak Intake

23.0C

The Danger den also does a nice job of ramping up the heat to the coolant. It does reach an equilibrium rather fast though, and over all the coolant is not as warm as it was for the Leufken block.

Temp Delta

+2.4C

Flow Delta

-113.51GPH

Max Flow

158.40GPH

This one was a suprise also. It turns out that the DangerDen design is slightly sensitive to Coolant Flow rates. Turning in a 2.4C increase when dropping the flow 110GPH.  2.4C is nothing, and is will within a temp change that just a warm draft of air could have on your system. But it it interesting to see how each block reacts slightly different.

The reason for the shaky flow rates is cause it seems to be harder to get certain blocks to stay at the same flow rate.  Some tweaking to the pumps throttle is needed now and then to keep a flow rate close to the same.

BeCool Jagged Edge -

My crude MS Paint work on the pic to show the coolant flow.

Peak Ex. Core Temp

44.9C

Peak MBM Temp

42.0C

Peak Ex. Intake Temp

22.6C

With this blocks mirror like finish, and perfectly flat base,  I knew it was going to perform good.  It performed very well, and came in under the Maze 1C by about .57C ( which is well with in the reasonable margin of error with the ambient being .2C in favor of the BeCool.)  The truth is, once you get below margins of 1C you are really pushing the accuracy of most consumer digital thermometers. The ExTec is calibrated to .1C, but there are so many variables involved that anything below 1C difference is almost foolish to consider substantial.

Peak Coolant In

25.0C

Peak Coolant Out

24.9C

Peak Exhaust

24.2C

Peak Intake

22.6C

Same thing as before, except that the coolant temps are a hair higher this rime.   This is supporting the theory that higher coolant temps are showing that the block is doing its job ( as long as the ambient temps are not the cause of higher temps)

Temp Delta

+1.5C

Flow Delta

-104.96GPH

Max Flow

151.65GPH

The Jagged Edge performs like the others, no real big swing in temps from dropping the flow rate.  One thing that was interesting was the pretty steep drop in flow between the Maze and Jagged edge. You can see why that is from looking at the layouts of the inside of the blocks. The Jagged edge as a lot more surface area, but is also much more crowded Vs. the Maze 1C with less overall surface area, but a much more open path to move coolant.
