Review - AOpen HX45A Case - The Innards

As you can see its a pretty simple inside layout ( reminiscent of some INWIN cases). Its nice and open. For a mid tower case its a
dream to work in.

Its got the standard 80mm Fan Holder

Yep, even the cheap cases got a cheesy plastic fan holder in the front. This one is no different.
Although I don't like the plastic strip that goes down in front of the fan, I will prolly cut it away in order to open up the entire fan face ( it also quiets the fan down. )

About the most "InWin"-ish thing about this case is the pre placed mounting lugs on the back plate. Those can cause some issues if you use a non
standard mother board. But it also can save a good deal of time.
Unfortunately the back plate does not come out, so you have to do all your work reaching in the case. No big problem, just a mild annoyance ( if you swap mobos all the time).

The Supplied Power supply is only a 250, but is a nice Power supply. Most of the time you wont need more then a 250 in a mid tower. This 250
IS AMD certified ( the entire case is actually ) and is ATX 2.03 Cert. Cant complain about the power supply at all, worked fine with my Abit KA7 with a Athlon 500 @ 750Mhz. It has a BB fan in the back also.

This was something I overlooked by accident, but caught at a second glance.
Now this isn't a "power user" feature, but they stamped in what bolts into what holes :) Could be helpful to some people just getting into computers.

Another nice lil suprise was this.
The engineers at AOpen have done their homework. Now this could be something that's becoming standard, but this is the first time I have seen it. The front metal plate (RF sheild) in front of the 5 1/4 and 3 1/2 bays actually break apart half way down the bay and not one plate per opening like most cheap cases are. Then you just fold down the half that's still in the way, and you have a nice grounding shelf to slide yer CDrom over. As I said in now both AOpen reviews- their engineers really know what's going on. Its good to see that.

Sharp Edges SUCK. That's why I LOVE this case. Sharp edges are few and far between. All edges are folded over
and are completely harmless. This will allow you to keep those precious pints of blood instead of adding them to the system. Very high quality look.
