SuperClock'n and OverCool'n

Pic's and all the Goodies

FINAL WORDS

Here's where I tell you what sucks and what's cool.

Duron  650: mine is a crappy overclocker. Some people are  hitting 1050 with a damn heatsink and I got the supercooling thing going on and  I'm 100 mhz less. In general though, Durons are super cheap and perform  incredibly. So overall, I'm happy with the chip.

Abit KT7-RAID: Everyone knows this board. It speaks for itself. IMHO, There is not a better Socket A motherboard currently available. I don't care what the A7V zealots say.

OCWatercool Copper Block: This block is great. It bests the Tidal Pool, the  aquastealth, and some homemade blocks I've experimented with. I can't speak for  those that I have not played with, though (Hint to all the waterblock  makers.).

OCWatercool  rese-Pump: I like this. I would rather have a system  that is completely inline, but most people are worried about bleeding the system properly so they go with reservoirs. If you want a reservoir, THIS IS THE ONE TO  GET. Don't get some container with a submersible pump. They add 1 to 5 degrees to the water temp. Heat = bad. This is an inline pump mounted to the outside of  a reservoir so NO HEAT is added to the water. I highly recommend this.

Danger Den Mounting  Clip: Well, this clip is off very high quality and I am  overall satisfied with it. I had a tidal pool clip, and OCWatercool clip, and a Danger Den clip all at my disposal. I chose the Dangerden clip, because it was the most sturdy, most adjustable, and best made. I wish that people would start  making mounting clips that use all three lugs around the AMD socket though.

Danger Den Cold  Plate: There's not too much to say about a cold plate.  However, the plate was of the exact dimensions they said it would be and it was  VERY SMOOTH. So the two things that could have been botched, were not ;-). Once  again, I highly recommend it.

156w Peltier: This will suck A LOT of power from your power supply (that's why I'm running it from a separate AT psu). However, not many people can say that they have one of the hottest processors around (overclocked Socket A cpus) running just below ambient temperature. So I am quite happy with this.

Silicone Hose: Let me quote myself here: "Let's just say I feel like an ass for being excited over tubing" Well, there it is folks. This tubing is pretty damn tough  to crimp and it has a nice and thick wall. Can't ask for more than that.

CONCLUDING RUMINATIONS (I love big words)

The cooling system was very successful. Too bad the chip sucked ass. For my  next project, coming in the not too near but not too distant future, I'm going  to get a hand picked, already high mhz (blue-core) T-bird. I'm considering grabbing a mobo with DDR RAM and 266 mhz FSB for this project (anyone wanna  donate? :-)). I hopefully will have my motherboard modded for higher voltages by  then, too. Also, you may see that I have DangerDen items, but no DangerDen blocks. Patience, young warrior. It will come. Oh. And you may remember seeing that odd, square hole on the top of my case in the proceeding pics. That could be for decoration or it could be for something important to stick out of in an upcoming project revision. What's your guess? Me thinks it is just for decoration.

FINAL IMPORTANT NOTE: About two weeks ago, this waterblock had a leak on it. My video card was fried. I contacted Chip from www.overclock-watercool.com and he said that this was only his second leaking block ever. Basically, don't test the system for  eight hours before putting it in. Test it for 24. I will not hesitate to recommend this block to you, though, because Chip told me that he has now  implemented more precautions to keep the block from leaking.

Also, a few people that I have talked to have said that my temps are a bit high. I'm not one to disagree. I'm thinking that my radiator was the problem,  but if you have other ideas, post them at the forum.
